Hi, I'm Eliette, and I’m the hôtesse and Chef behind Nourishing Cookery. I'm so glad you found me!
About Nourishing Cookery Personal Chef Service Los Angeles
I started offering customized Personal Chef and Culinary services in Los Angeles back in 2015 out of a strong desire to help people with allergies, debilitating health issues or busy people who simply don't have the time or desire to prepare nutritious meals from scratch.
I've always had a love of food and true hospitality so when it was time for college, I headed to Australia to earn my Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Restaurant Management at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School where I've made many close life-long friends also in the Hospitality Industry.
After Australia, I decided to complete an 18-months Food and Beverage Management Internship to gain some real experience in a high caliber hotel: InterContinental Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. Part of my internship consisted of working in Ohio's only 5 Diamond restaurant at the time called Classics.
My deep love for real and nourishing food truly began shortly after I moved to USA. I started having some joint pains in my 20s caused most likely by the Standard American Diet that I was inevitably introduced to at the time. I was determined to feel better and quickly became fascinated with real food: food free of junk made with unadulterated ingredients, sustainability, the impact of the our surrounding environment on us and of us on the environment.
I dedicated many years reading, researching and experimenting different things and various diets. My goal was to understand what truly works and sift through the noise of the varied and conflicting information out there. I was careful to note down what worked and what didn't for me.
What I found out: Every Body is Different.
Although there were some undeniable commonalities among what causes the many different health issues, the indubitable truth is that no two people are the same. I've had clients that I cooked for who could go to the hospital after consuming gluten while another who was deadly allergic to cucumbers.
What worked for me.
Although I'm, by no means, free of all physical discomfort. Now I rarely have any joint issues and I have dramatically improved my general well-being. I do have the occasional digestive issues and muscle aches if I don't make the conscious effort to eat properly, do some yoga and bring some zen. Personally, the main point of focus that work best for me are:
- Reducing stress. Stress releases stress hormones that affects one both mentally and physical.
- Movement. Especially yoga and deep breathing.
- Diet changes. Cutting out the most common allergens, incorporating all colors of the rainbow, and practicing mindful eating.
- De-cluttering (An unexpected one I'm sure). That included de-cluttering my home, my life and all the fad diets out there with the fluffy pieces of info.
How Can I Help You?
With over 20 years of restaurant and cooking experience and a vision to help clients and blog readers experience the same freedom from pain that I did, I'm delighted to share my knowledge and learn from you through my blog or work with you one-on-one by bringing nourishing food on your table. Please note that although my specialty is healing diets, I also absolutely enjoy cooking for individuals and families who simply do not have the time or desire to cook food from scratch but want Nourishing Cookery at home!

Eliette's philosophies
About our No Fuss Clean Recipes and Tutorials
I share no-fuss, tasty, and clean recipes that require no special pieces of equipment. No Instapot, no air fryer, just a good ol' pot and pan! I write easy-to-digest tutorials on all aspects of cooking to encourage you to eat a more nourishing diet.
Although I spent the last couple of decades educating myself on various healing diets, sustainability and the indisputable importance of living and eating consciously, I've learned that it's equally important to do what feels right for you. I found out for myself that constantly worrying over food and ingredients is not healthy and can affect your view on life.
The focus of the recipes, articles and info you'll find on NourishingCookery.com is not about obsessing over perfection but rather to encourage you to cook and feel like you are making progress in your clean eating journey. For instance, although gluten and dairy are common allergens and can cause inflammation, we have some recipes that use organic flour and dairy.
Throughout this year, this site will be updated often with fresh recipes, some designed to be healing in nature but others just for fun and all tasty! My hope is that you'll discover many recipes that become your go-to again and again!
About Using Plastic
I'm very strict about avoiding plastic at home and at clients' home but it's okay if, for now, you do decide to use it. You do you and there's really no judgement here :). Throughout this year, this site will be updated often and I'll just put up a few articles if you would like to transition away from it as much as possible if you decide to make the shift. Both your health and the environment will greatly benefit from it.
About Using the Microwave
I highly encourage you to stop using the microwave if you own one. Just get rid of it. Don't even donate it. A simple google search will tell you why it's important to avoid it at all costs. Throughout this year, this site will be updated often and I'll put up a few articles to help you transition away from it forever, even at the office or on the road!
